A few years ago my husband thrust a paper tote from a local store at me. “Open it.”
I untied the ribbons, pulling the contents from the colorful tissue paper. My fingers touched the silky material. My pillow, I’d made. But what was it doing in the bag? I‘d been trying to sell decorative pillows at a local retail store. Unfortunately, they sat for months, languishing on a shelf, waiting for an owner.
“I told the salesperson these pillows have a wonderful design and she should order more,” he grinned. I asked if the salesperson had seen the same last name as mine on the credit card when he bought them.
My business continued to dwindle so I closed down Posh Pillows. But I will always cherish my husband’s desire to support me and through that, God’s ability to encourage me.
In the Bible, I Thessalonians 5:11- says, “So encourage each other and build each other up just as you are already doing.” Such are our instructions for the Day of Love. Happy Valentines Day!
